Yesterdays play was cancelled due to the very strong winds. The gales also caused havoc with the New and Jubilee bunkers which have all been made unplayable with the sand moving away from the middle of the bunkers and piling up at the edges. It will take a large squad of guys 3 hours to bring them back into play on Monday.
The wind has also blown sand from the nearby beach and given my 8th green on the Jubilee a lovely topdressing. This happens every year to this green, and may be a reason for the high concentration of fescue on this surface.
The construction job to the 12th tee on the Jubilee has not fared so well.....3 inches of sand has blown off the tee top and ended up on the 12th bronze and ladies tees.
